They probably aren’t. These things depreciate like a fucking rock. You can get a 60 mile, climate controlled stored NISMO for half the original sticker of $175k. (I damn near did.) Godzilla makes German car maintenance look like a fucking breeze, and downright cheap. If absolutely anything goes wrong on ‘em? Everything is more expensive than even a Porsche. Everything.

edit: Case in point, the center differential in the GT-R? Same setup as mine in that it’s considered non-rebuildable, non-repairable. Mine needs only the center diff fluid every 60k. Costs $270 at the dealer .
GT-R needs the differential and transmission fluid completely flushed and changed every 3 6,000 miles .

It eats tires and brakes at a considerable rate when tracked. I used to autocross with a guy who had one. He got rid of it. Fast but expensive.

“Yes, I was relocated to Germany by the Naval Marinetime Calvary of Amereca Unit Team Division Nations Guard, and my GT-R is back home. I need to sell it immediately as it’s sitting in my shippers warehouse. You can’t see it in person , but once you transfer the money, I’ll have my shipper transport the vehicle to you right away.”

I think I’m more baffled by the fact that there are people who fall for scams like this for these to even exist.

Yeah. So these probably have one of the known transmission problems. GT-R gearbox is NOT FUCKING CHEAP . $20 ,000+   not including labor and it must be performed by a GT-R tech at a GT-R dealer. Nissan won’t sell it to you.

That is the least of what it eats. I used to do track setup for a ‘16 NISMO. It ended up a lemon buyback because the owner has a really fucking good attorney. Nissan fought that tooth and nail.

Every track day required it to go in for the ‘extreme duty’ change because every fluid hit the ‘change immediately’ temperature point. So oil, trans, diffs, and brakes. Plus tires. Plus alignment.

And then the third time it came back in, it needed rotors.
$1100.
“Oh, per axle? Not so bad.”
No. Per wheel .
